A product line exploring how recovered ocean plastic could become an everyday consumer object — not a statement piece. Designed at Phoenix Design in partnership with Parley for the Oceans and Adidas.
Recovered ocean plastic comes with constraints — colour variation, fibre length, and a story that has to be honoured without becoming the whole point of the product.
This project explored how to design within those constraints honestly: a form language that worked with the material's character instead of hiding it, and an object that earned a place in someone's daily life on its own merits. The sustainability story is real; the object had to be just as real.
A material with a story is still a material — it has to earn its place by being good.
